Two weeks remain in PeeWee season

    The month of June has flown by and the end of PeeWee baseball season is in sight.
    Imperial 1 opened its week with a 16-2 win over Imperial 3 last Wednesday.
    Imperial 3 was able to get runners on base each inning, but only scored runs by Braxtyn Weiss and Grayson Owens in the third inning. Bentley Long reached based twice for Imperial 3, as well.
    Dylan Miscles pitched for Imperial 1 and was one of six players to score in each the first and third innings.
    Aaron Cervantes and Jesus Acuna each scored three times in the game. Max Bernard and Zariah Carman each scored twice in the game.
    Imperial 1 added a second win last Friday against Wallace.
    Imperial 1 stranded runners on third in the first and second innings.
    Trailing 0-2 heading into the third inning, Imperial 1 grabbed the lead with seven runs in the top of the inning.
    After Wallace scored one run in the third, Imperial 1 traded two runs with Wallace in the fourth inning.
    Entering the fifth leading 9-5, Imperial 1 scored eight more runs and finished the night with a 17-5 win.
    Miscles pitched again for Imperial 1.
    Cervantes was able to score three times once more. Rodrigo Robles, Bernard, Jesus Acuna, Noel Tarin, Jaxsen Villarreal and Carman each scored twice.
Up next
    All three Imperial teams were at home this Wednesday with Imperial 1 playing Ogallala 3 and Imperial 2 and 3 playing each other.
    Friday, Imperial 3 will host Grant at 7 p.m. and Imperial 2 will host Wallace at 5 p.m. Imperial 1 will travel to Ogallala 2 with a start time of 6 p.m.
    Next Wednesday all three teams will play at 6 p.m. Imperial 1 will host Grant while Imperial 2 will travel to Ogallala 1 and Imperial 3 will be at Paxton.
    The regular season will end next Friday with Imperial 1 on the road at Hershey and Imperial 3 at Ogallala 2. Both games begin at 6 p.m.
    This year’s PeeWee tournament will be held July 5-8 in Hershey.
