RPAC falls in matchups with FKC at New West Classic games

This year’s New West All-Star games were tough on the Republican Plains Activities Conference.
The RPAC volleyball team, including Wallace’s Denay Pelster and Wauneta-Palisade’s Alexa Sandman, lost both matches last Wednesday night in Minden.
The RPAC fell to the Fort Kearny Conference 27-25, 14-25, 22-25 in its opening match. In the consolation game, the RPAC lost to the Loup Platte Conference 23-25, 16-25. The Southwest Conference advanced to the championship game with a 25-15, 21-25, 25-16, 25-20 win over the LPC then beat the FKC 25-16, 20-25, 25-18.
Pleasanton’s Chelsea Fisher was named a MVP of the night, then was named MVP in the SWC victory over the RPAC Thursday night.
The RPAC, including Sandman and Wallace’s Mariah Gardner, fell behind after a 3-9 second quarter run and trailed 22-28. Fisher, a 6’2” center, dominated the paint and ensured a 39-48 RPAC loss.
Wallace’s Camden McConnell and Kolton Hager suited up for the boys’ basketball game. The RPAC trailed the FKC 23-33 at halftime, but worked itself back into the game. The teams were tied at 60-60 with 1:20 remaining before a late FKC three pointer finished off scoring. Quinn Johnson of Loomis was the game’s MVP.
