Fall Sports Preview sets the scene for CCS, WP athletics

This year’s preseason coverage of Chase County and Wauneta-Palisade athletics has a different look, with High Plains News’ inaugural Fall Sports Preview insert in this week’s paper.
CCS and WP sports teams are joined by Perkins County and Wallace teams, giving sports fans a glimpse of area competition and the SPVA and RPAC Conferences.
CCS sports began Tuesday when its softball team traveled to the Southern Valley Triangular.
The Longhorn cross country team travels to the Dundy County Stratton Invite and the volleyball team hosts Ogallala, both on Thursday.
Chase County’s football team plays at home against Alliance Friday.
WP’s first games will be Thursday when the Broncos’ volleyball team travels to Trenton to face Hitchcock County. The Broncos will also play in the Cambridge tournament Saturday.
Wauneta-Palisade football takes to the field Friday when it hosts Banner County.
