CCS golfers travel to PCS, Southwest Invites

    Golf season is in full swing and the Chase County golf team stayed on the run last week with two invitationals.
    The Longhorns went to the Perkins County Invite April 18.
    Gavin Wisnieski placed eighth after shooting an 87 and finishing in a three-way tie. Other scores were not available, but Head Coach Marissa McDaniel said it went well.
    “It was a little colder than we’d planned, but the wind didn’t pick up until afternoon,” she said.
    Chase County was one of eight teams in Cambridge Friday for the Southwest Invite.
    Wisnieski shot 42 out and 50 in to finish with a score of 92 and placed sixth. Jaret Manley finished 10th after shooting 50 and 49 over his 18 holes.
    Matthew Murray, Kaden Vogt and Cole Pankonin were also on the course.
Up next
    Tuesday’s invite at Garden County was canceled due to water damage to the course.
    This week’s SPVA meet was bumped up from Friday to Thursday to try and find better weather. The meet will still be held at Pheasant Run Golf Course at Grant.
    The Longhorns will be at the Creek Valley Invite Tuesday at Chappell then will travel to the North Platte St. Pat’s Invite next Thursday.
