Barrel Races start weekday activities at Chase County Fair

Allo Arena on the Chase County Fair Grounds was hopping Monday night with the fair’s annual Barrel Races.
Twenty-three rides in the youth category and Benkelman’s Payton Nelson, finished with the night’s best time. Nelson won the 1D on Jaybirds Bluemoon with a time of 17.26.
Quincy Stull won the 2D with a time of 17.895.
In the 3D, Ali Reeves was first with a time of 18.305 on Peso. Second went to Kadence Wallin, 18.605, was second on Meredith Gray. Also riding was Moly Spicer, Toria Bley, Lilly Joy Way, Kathya Aragon, Molly Yearous, Kamryn Fanning and Becca Reeves.
Out of 11 senior rides, Deb Schroetlin won the 1D with a time of 16.880. Kent Magnuson won the 2D, 17.644, Rolen Hoegeri won the 3D, 17.959, and Bobbi Nelson had the top 4 D time, 19.267.
The night’s fastest time went to Christy Hefley, who won the Open 1D with a time of 16.664.
Topping the Open 2D times was Makenna Fisher, 17.206. P. Nelson was second, 17,216.
In Open 3D, Teresa McCormick won with 17.670.
Rounding out the results in Open 4D, Karen Turek finished on top with a time of 18.717.
