Eleven attend FBLA state competition in Kearney

Eleven Chase County Schools’ students attended the State Future Business Leaders of America Conference in Kearney April 11-13.
“While there, the kids attended several workshops, watched some performance events and took several tests,” said Sandy O’Neil, FBLA advisor.
Senior students competed in “Job Interview,” in which they prepared a resume and cover letter prior to the conference and underwent an actual interview while at the conference, O’Neil said.
“Morgan Peterson made the semifinals in that event,” she said.
Other FBLA students from CCS who attended were Keirsten Colton, Chloe Colton, Ava McNair, Alejandra Castillo, Brice Vitosh, Grisleydi Ortega, Brooke Schilke, Jerzee Milner, Olivia Spady and Ella O’Neil.
    National qualifiers were:
Ella O’Neil - 3rd place Accounting II
Morgan Peterson - 2nd place Accounting II
Keirsten Colton - 2nd place Keyboarding Applications
Brooke Schilke - 2nd place Intro to Parliamentary Procedure
Brice Vitosh - 6th place Insurance and Risk Management
Ava McNair received an honorable mention in Introduction to FBLA and Introduction to Business Communication.
“This means she placed in the top 4% of everyone taking the tests. There were 211 in the Intro to FBLA test and 319 in the Intro to Business Communication test,” O’Neil said.
