Crossroads Hardware looks to fill home project needs

As anyone who’s tackled a quick home project knows, tracking down the parts you need can take longer than the actual project.
Tracy and Janice Haarberg looked at their own experiences and listened to those of other Wauneta residents when making the decision to open Crossroads Hardware.
Haarberg said he was making trips to Imperial all the time and heard other people say the same.
“We thought we’d give it a shot,” he said.
Plans came together quickly for the store. They made the decision a couple months before opening in mid-May, he said.
Located in the building that was most recently MissC Liquor, Haarberg said they finished one room and removed the cooler.
Now shelves are filled with common needs like pipe fittings, cleaning supplies, fasteners, spray paint, plumbing needs and dog food.
Haarberg said the business will try to add what people ask for, but space will be their limiting factor.
Seasonal items such as hoses in the summer and snow shovels in the winter are part of their plan.
“We’re still trying to fulfill what people need,” he said.
Regular store hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
