These skillful roofers walk the precarious roof last week like they were part cat.

Roofers work without a net

The old church/home located at 801 Broadway is owned by Drs. Jon and Rachell Richman, formerly of Imperial. Damage to the roof required a new one, so BAC Roofing, a family-owned business of Grand Island, took on the job. BAC has worked on many churches, and they are used to the height and steep angles, said Brad Arends, co-owner. He said the insurance adjuster wasn’t too keen on inspecting a high and sloped roof like that of this former church building, so Arends used a drone to inspect the roof, then measurements for the roof surface were taken by satellite, he said. The reroofing job took about two and a half days to complete.
