Photographers in fair’s contest can enter four new categories

Photographers have four new themes in which to submit entries for this year’s Chase County Fair Photo Contest.
And, contest coordinator Samie Johnson said entries are already coming in for this year’s contest, which has an Aug. 3 deadline at 5 p.m.
Themes this year include Bliss, People on Phones, Patriotic and Rain.
Johnson said entries will be judged on a point system in each category, with cash prizes going to first, second and third place in the amounts of $40, $30 and $20. An additional $50 will go to the Best of Show winner.
With no limit on entries and a $5 fee for each photo submitted, she said photographers should begin planning now for their entries.
All photos will be displayed in the expo building during the Chase County Fair.
Photographers must be at least 16 years of age, and professional photographers (anyone who gets paid for photography) are excluded from the contest.
Entries must be submitted in an 8 x 10-inch size mounted with an 11 x 14 inch black mat without frames. All photos must be suitable for family viewing, she said.
Mats are available at The Imperial Republican, Wauneta Breeze, Adams Drug Co. and Super Sam Designs.
Photo entries can be dropped off at Platinum T-Shirt & Embroidery, 410 Broadway Street, in Imperial before the deadline, or can be mailed to Super Sam Designs, 31951 736 Road, Champion, NE 69023.
Super Sam Designs LLC is the contest sponsor.
