Ten new counties reported cases of COVID-19 since last week (shown above in darker color), bringing the total to 45 of 93 counties. As of Tuesday evening, Nebraska has recorded 901 cases with 20 deaths.

Nebraska COVID-19 deaths up to 20; still none in southwest health district

Confirmed numbers of coronavirus afflictions in the Southwest Nebraska Public Health District, which includes Chase County, remain at zero in the latest report out Wednesday morning.
However, cases in Nebraska continue to grow slightly. Since last Wednesday, Nebraska has seen an increase from 12 to 20 deaths due to the virus.
Positive COVID-19 cases in Nebraska grew from 478 to 901 in the past week, as reported Wednesday morning on the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) website.
Last week, Gov. Pete Ricketts added to his list of Directed Health Measures (DHMs).
His 10th DHM effective at midnight last Thursday closes beauty/nail salons, massage therapy services, tattoo parlors and more until April 30.
Organized team sports outside of the schools were also banned until May 31, the same date that school sports and activities must follow.
Gov. Ricketts, in a Tuesday press conference, said Nebraska is expected to reach its peak in the coming weeks.
To help Nebraska stay focused on slowing the spread, Ricketts designated April 10-30  as “21 Days to Stay Home and Stay Healthy.”
“As the virus starts to peak in our state, we need Nebraskans to be especially mindful about limiting its spread,” he said.
