Miss Nebraska encourages cyber safety, praises TeamMates program

Allie Swanson of Omaha was crowned Miss Nebraska June 8, 2019 in North Platte.
Swanson spoke to students at Chase County Schools Tuesday.
She shared her social impact pitch from the Miss America contest and also praised the TeamMates program, which is active at Chase County Schools.
Swanson competed for the Miss America title on Dec. 19.
While she did not win, Swanson was awarded the Tiffany Phillips Scholar-Athlete Scholarship.
She was a three-sport athlete while in high school at Millard North in Omaha. Swanson went on to play basketball in college, studying at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri.
She is currently a master’s student at Bellevue University.
For winning Miss Nebraska,  Swanson was awarded nearly $12,000 in cash scholarships, use of a car during her year of service, a prize package valued at more than $25,000 and MBA program packages at both Midland and Bellevue universities.
