Morningstar Cafe opened its dining room per restrictions on Tuesday. The lunch crowd was small but seemed in good spirits as waitress Sherri Buffington served food at one of the tables.

Latest food establishment guidelines allowing options

Governor Pete Ricketts announced new guidelines that began Monday for several types of businesses and religious organizations which included restaurants.
Previously, eating establishments had been required to close dining areas and serve food by carry out, delivery or curbside delivery only.
This also had an impact on the coffee-drinking crowds that enjoyed getting together for their mid-morning or afternoon coffee “social” time.
Beginning Monday, the local eating establishments had a choice of how they wanted to move forward serving the community.
Several spots open inside
Morningstar Cafe has opened its dining rooms to customers during regular business hours.
Sherri Buffington, a waitress at the cafe, said even though they are opening the dining area, they will be following the safety guidelines per state mandates for spacing and capacity restrictions.
Tuesday was actually their first day open to the public because the restaurant is closed Mondays.
“A few people came in for breakfast and lunch. It’s still slow yet,” said Buffington.
The same number of call-in orders to go have remained steady, she said.
The shortened hours at 509 Broadway will remain the same for the rest of this week, but the dining area is now open to customers.
“Beginning next Monday, we will return to normal business hours with our dining area open. We will be following the state restaurant guidelines for in-store dining customers,” said store manager Shelby Jutten.
Sweden Creme owner/manager Jamie Jussel said they have opened their dining room while following the guidelines for restaurants, as well.
“We haven’t had very many customers using the dining room—not as many as I thought there would be,” Jussel said.
They are still having a large number of call-in orders though, she added.
Broadway Steakhouse has opened their dining room to the public, as well.
