Josh Burke receives Advanced Provider of the Year award

    Following the submission of an anonymous nomination letter to the Nebraska Emergency Medical Services Association (NEMSA), Josh Burke of Imperial received the NEMSA Advanced Provider of the Year award for 2019 at the winter conference held in Kearney Jan. 10-12.
    Burke is a National Registry Paramedic (NRP) and Flight Paramedic Certified (FP-C) employed full-time at LifeNet North Platte.
    He usually travels to North Platte twice a week and remains on-site, on-call for 24-hour shifts, he said.
    LifeNet North Platte has both helicopter and airplane medical air ambulances for which he is a crew member.
    “We travel to wherever a patient in critical condition requires transferring to a definitive care location at the appropriate medical facility,” Burke said.
     He is also a volunteer with Chase County EMS, Imperial Fire Department, Chase County Emergency Management and works part-time at Chase County Community Hospital/Clinics.
