IVFD called to grass fire, potential gas leak

The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department (IVFD) responded to two additional calls over the weekend after the big fire at Enders.
On Saturday, IVFD responded to a possible gas leak at Parkview Heights.
“We didn’t find anything and we weren’t there very long,” IVFD Chief Doug Mitchell said.
IVFD also responded to a grass fire Sunday at 5:36 p.m.
That fire was located at 326  Avenue and 741 Road.
“It wasn’t very big at all,” Mitchell said.
Lamar’s department was called in to assist, but turned around upon arrival.
