Garage sale-ing starts early in citywide event

Whether it was to get a first crack at the bargains or to beat the heat, people were out early Saturday for Imperial’s annual citywide garage sales. Official start time was 7 a.m., but many of the 33 garage sale hosts said shoppers were already showing up by 6:45 a.m. and earlier. Above, Ana Stepanovic of Grant was very interested in the rugs at Diane Radcliffe’s sale, and eventually purchased them. Her friend Ruslana Kulibaba of Brandon and son Max were garage sale-ing with her. Below, these four found sombreros at Mercedes Hauxwell’s sale, from left, Glen Bellmeyer of Dalton, Hanna Quintana and Cameron Kilpatrick, both of Norcatur, Kansas, and Lindsey White of Champion. Cousins Krayton Paisley and Silas Burke, middle, cashed in on their grandmother Angie Paisley’s garage sale by selling lemonade and popsicles. (Johnson Publications photos)
