Former resident featured speaker at women’s retreat

    A former Imperial resident will be the featured speaker Saturday at the Imperial Bible Church women’s retreat.
    Candy Colson, the former Candy Raile now of Hamilton, Montana, will be in Imperial for the retreat from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Welcome and worship begins at 9 a.m. after registration.
    This year’s retreat theme is “Whatever is True.”
    Colson is a teaching partner with the Institute of Ministry Development International. In addition to the U.S., she has conducted women’s conferences in South Africa, Bangladesh, Haiti, Zambia, Kenya and India.
    She writes her own teaching material, and said she enjoys meeting women where they are in life and then “painting a picture of God that they can get to.”
    In addition to Colson’s presentations, mini sessions are also scheduled during the day.
    Registration fee is $15 and can be paid at the door.
    Coordinators ask those who plan to attend and have not preregistered to call Vivian Berry, 308-883-5873 so plans can be made for materials and food. Lunch will be provided.
