First shipment veterans bricks have arrived

Ten bricks, purchased to honor local veterans and their branches of service, have arrived, said Bud Statz, Veterans Memorial committee member.
“We just ordered 10 to begin with to make sure they were what we expected,” he said.
The committee liked how they looked and will be ordering more this week, he added.
“Bricks are ordered in smaller quantities due to certain packaging constraints,” said Statz.
There are over 170 bricks purchased so far, and more can be purchased any time, he said.
The bricks will be placed on the wall sometime in the spring, so there’s plenty of time to order more for an honored veteran.
“We are aiming at approximately Memorial Day weekend to perform a dedication ceremony,” said Statz.
