Cruise night to honor senior class

With the current kindergarten class spotlighted at last week’s cruise night, the Class of 2020 will be on display this weekend.
Chase County Schools announced an original two-week closure due to the pandemic on March 16.
After an extension to May 1, enrichment packets and online learning tools were available to CCS students.
“This does stink for (the seniors),” Class of 2020 sponsor Jill Bauerle said.
“Yeah, they miss prom and graduation but they miss the little things, too,” she added, “like not having a true last day to say ‘I’m done.’”
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts later closed all schools in Nebraska May 31, with Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) canceling all extracurricular activities during that same time period, as well.
That includes the original CCS graduation date of May 9, which is this Saturday.
