City to tackle mobile home park licensing

It might be called a softer approach as city officials start the process again for mobile home park licensing in Imperial.
In 2015, when letters were sent to local mobile home park owners about the new licensing requirement, no applications were returned, said City Clerk/Administrator Jo Leyland.
The licensing requirement became part of city code the year before when new Comprehensive Planning and Zoning regulations were put in place in August 2014.
Along with no applications being returned, Leyland said some challenges also came up after the letters were sent, so efforts didn’t proceed.
At Monday’s city council meeting, Leyland asked council members what direction should now be taken with mobile home park owners with regard to the city code’s licensing requirement.
