Chase County residents place in Colby art show

Two Chase County artists placed in the annual Art on the Oasis art show at Colby Community College in Kansas.

The top three artists in professional, amateur, and high school divisions were presented with cash prizes. 

Marcia Bauerle of Imperial, whose focus is collage/mixed media, placed third in the mixed media division.

Hannah Lovell placed first in the painting division for high school, representing Wauneta-Palisade.

Wauneta-Palisade art teacher Danny Schluckebier said Lovell is a very talented artist.

“She sketches rigorously and always works on digital art at home,” Schluckebier said.
