Businesses continue new investment in Imperial

    This past year saw the completion of a new $3.9 million building for Farm Credit Services of America and permits for another $3.6 million, signaling that Imperial continues to move forward.
    Farm Credit Services moved into their new facility in 2019, which is located in the Cornerstone development.
    Of the $3.6 million in permits this year, commercial construction accounts for $3.14 million. Two major projects began near the end of the year and will be completed in 2020.
    The first includes a new plant and warehouse/offices at Nutrien Ag Solutions, located at the southeast edge of Imperial.
    Hill’s Family Foods has started work on their store that includes a new shell over the building and expanded square footage.
    In addition, Gigabit, LLC has started construction of a fiber optics network to bring high-speed internet, TV and phone services to residential and business customers in the city of Imperial.
    The $1.8 million network will be operated by ALLO Communications, based in Imperial, and will become operational this spring.
    Simon Brothers Roofing has opened a new office in the Valley Pro building at 639 East 12th.
    The Crazy Cow Cafe has opened at the Imperial Auction Market during their Tuesday sales.
