Blood donors Nov. 19 will be entered in prize giveaway

As part of a partnership with Suburban Propane, the American Red Cross is organizing a special giveaway to thank blood drive donors in the coming month for rolling up a sleeve to help.
    Individuals giving blood Nov. 15 to Dec. 15 will automatically be entered for a chance to win a prize package that includes a propane-powered pizza oven, fire pit, outdoor heater and stipend towards propane.
    Chase County Schools’ auxiliary gym will be the site for a blood drive next Thursday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    The goal is 84 units, said School Nurse Angie Paisley, who coordinates with the CCS student team on these drives at the school.
    Donors will have an added incentive to donate next week. All blood donations will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies, with results available one to two weeks after.
    All donors will be required to wear a face covering or mask. They will be provided when people enter if they don’t bring their own, Paisley said.
