Association membership drive underway in McCook

    The kickoff for the McCook Concert Association’s 2019-20 season has begun. The membership drive is currently underway.
    “We have an exciting season ahead and look forward to adding many new members,” said an association spokesperson.
    Admission to concerts is by season membership.
    Season membership prices are: Family (2 adults & all student children), $110; Adult, $50; Student, $10. Single concert admission price is $25 for adults, $10 for students.
    There are four concerts slated in McCook for each season.
    The first show is Thursday, Oct. 10, with the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater—pet tricks & juggling with 30 pets.
    Second in the concert lineup is Timothy Chooi, appearing Saturday, Nov. 23. Chooi is a classical violinist who plays many well-known light classics as well as popular tunes.
    Next, Jason Farnham, a pop, blues and classicial pianist will be in concert on Sunday, March 8, 2020.
    The fourth concert is a soul & pop a cappella group called Ball in the House, scheduled Saturday, April 18, 2020.
    All concerts are at 7 p.m. CT at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown McCook.
    A McCook concert ticket will also admit the bearer to concert appearances in North Platte, Cozad and Holyoke, Colorado, said McCook Arts Council member Nancy Mousel.
    The McCook Concert Association is a non-profit organization that brings high-quality entertainment to McCook and the surrounding areas.
    Its goal is to provide the area with concerts offering music from a variety of genres to appeal to people of varying ages and musical tastes.
