MPCC community education classes begin in September

It’s hard to believe the new school year is just around the corner, but it is fast approaching.
Mid-Plains Community College is gearing up as well.
A new list of fall community education classes has been released.
These classes are non-credit classes but still require students to pre-register before the class begins.
The first classes will begin in September at the newly renovated MPCC Imperial campus location at 1324 Broadway.    
The list of community education classes this fall are as follows:
Fireground Mistakes and How to Avoid Them will be on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and taught by Timothy Zehnder.
Robotics for Youth (ages 7-9) will be Thursdays, Sept. 16 - Oct. 7. The instructor will be Chance Thayer.
Heartsaver CPR, First Aid and AED, Session I, is scheduled for Sept. 21 and 28, with Session II on  Oct. 19 and 26. The instructor is Billie Hayes.
QPR Suicide Prevention Training will be taught by Brian Obert on Thursday, Sept. 30. Lunch will be included in cost.
Harvest Time Floral is on Monday, Oct. 11, will be taught by Trish Dorn
Robotics for Youth (ages 10-11) will be held Thursdays, Oct. 14 - Nov. 4. Chance Thayer is the instructor.
A Meat Smoking class is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 5. This will include taste testing.Instructor for this class is Alex Gebert.
Cookie Decorating for beginners is Monday, Nov. 8, taught by Peggy Fitzke.
Reading and Riding the Orphan Train is set for Tuesdays, Nov. 2 and 9. This class has a ZOOM and on-site option. Martha Kruse is the instructor.
The Holocaust: Words and Images will be presented Mondays, Oct 4 - 25. This class also has a ZOOM and on-site option. Renae Bottom is instructing.
The last non-credit class on the fall schedule is Calligraphy. It will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and 12 and Nov. 2 and 9. Susan Hanson is the instructor.
