A building along East Highway 6 located there more than 30 years is coming down, making way for a new steel building.
Brad Markee of Markee Ag Service LLC said their business plans to  construct a new 70 x 100-foot steel building in that location.
Markee Ag Services, located just southeast of the building, purchased it last October from Southwind Six Bar Six LLC, which had operated Bart’s Corner nearby.
Markee said they had considered tearing out the old structure’s interior and remodeling it for their needs, but when comparing costs, decided to put up a new structure. The building had been used as the T-Junction restaurant and lounge, and was built in the early 1980s.
He said plans are to use the new building for dry fertilizer storage, and they hope to begin construction in August.
C & S Construction of Grant is handling the demolition and will also build the new structure, Markee said. On Tuesday, just some red iron and a few windows remained at the site.
