Fair Run registrations now being taken PDF Print E-mail

Organizers are gearing up for the 34th annual Chase County Fair Run set for Saturday morning, Aug. 18.
Registration forms are now available. All runners from last year’s event should have been emailed a form, or they are also available to pick up at Imperial Super Foods, or email coordinator Jonathan Beverly at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. This year’s race will again feature a 10K, 5K, a one-mile run/walk and a kids’ half-mile run. All of the races start and end at the Chase County Fairgrounds west entrance.
Prizes go to the top men and women overall in the 10K and   5K races. The top man and woman in each 10-year age group are also recognized.
All kids (12 and under) in the half-mile race will receive a ribbon,
In addition, all participants will be eligible for free prizes donated by area businesses. Race T-shirts will also go to all participants while supplies last.
Early registration for the adult participants is $15 before Aug. 11. That fee rises to $18 after that date. All kids age 12 and younger participate for free in any of the divisions.
Sponsors for the Fair Run are Super Foods and Running Times magazine.
Chase County Schools Coach Carl Zuege reminds high school cross country runners that they are ineligible to compete in the Fair Run because practices will have already started.
Zuege said his team annually helps out at the race.
